And sleep.

Daily writing prompt
What do you do to improve your sleep?

Mr. Emerson said it best:

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”

We only have this one.

There is nothing to be done to what has happened. We cannot foretell the next hour let alone twenty three more.

He is spot on.

Do not sleep on any of these.

Just let go of the nonsense.

And sleep.

20,000.

Hit 5,000 steps today and drop your achievement here — we’re cheering you on!

…so is this the 5000 steps my brain takes to figure out how to respond to the prompt? Or the 5000 times three I will be taking today coaching my buddy at the hardware store.

I am no mathematician, but that could be a large total.

If I walk at the bluff later, even more.

Let’s keep it simple.

20,000.

My gut says otherwise.

Daily writing prompt
What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?

I can be honest with you.

At this point in my life, I always follow my gut.

It pretty much leads the way everywhere. I’m workin’ on it, and in time, mind will once again prevail over matter. At least of the gut variety. But, I digress…

So let’s get down to brass tacks.

Now it isn’t an every day fare, but when I can, my gut leads me to a breakfast of scrambled eggs, made with some scallions, shrooms and bell peppers. Perhaps some cheese. That is a last minute call. And then, to make it all come together just right, it is topped with the ideal condiment for their consumption:

Some of Mr. Heinz’s perfected coulis.

If this was everyday, then for sure I would remain as depicted above. That just won’t work.

My gut says otherwise.
