What are your thoughts about cryptocurrency?

I really know nothing about it.

However, I did look up the word’s origins.  From the ancient Greek “kryptos” meaning hidden, concealed or secret.  Also happens to be the origin of the word crypt, which is a subterranean vault or hidden burial chamber.  A place of death.

Maybe it is just me, but it strikes me as odd that something like currency, an entity given much influence, status, power and control would somehow begin with “hidden, concealed or secret”.  Or if you will, is prefaced by a burial site.

Perhaps this helps explain  the recent events involving this type of monetary venture  to the tune of six billion or so. Know no details, but seems there was a great deal of hidden maneuvers, things done in secret,  all concealed from the participants.

Words have context and meaning is all I suggest. Why wouldn’t something so current reflect more openness and clarity?  A lot of this is Greek to me, but if it were gymnocurrency, perhaps I would feel safer.  Then, as it says, there is nothing to hide in any transaction.

That would make more cents to me.
