Always will be.

What’s a song that changed your life?

To change this life would be a very tall order.

I could not attribute that level of impact to any single ditty.  Don’t worry folks, I ain’t going there.  I know none of his.

There are those that certainly opened and broadened my appreciation for music  of all types from all sources.  Songs that play in my noggin when the time is right.  Or, lately, at random.

Like when I heard “Ashokan Farewell” played by our high school orchestra. Way better rendition than that on Ken Burn’s historical masterpiece.  “Amazing Grace” as sang and finally found by George Jones.

“Love Reign O’er Me”, as sung by Eddie Vedder, in a compelling  remake of Roger’s superlative effort.

Then there is “Fly Me To The Moon” and “Summer Wind” by Mr. Sinatra.

The man in black’s version of the 9″ Nails song “Hurt”.

“Take Five” by Dave Brubeck.

Then there is ‘Three Blind Mice” that used to be the opening for virtually all of the Stooges shorts and “This Is it” to open Bugs Bunny and friends.

“A Song For You”, as done by Leon Russell.

That video of him sitting at a piano at a bar closing up.

“Dixie Chicken”, the live version, by Little Feat. Lowell George at his best.

“My Sweet Lord” by the best Beatle ever, George.

Then there is this one written and sang by Kris Kristofferson, but then covered by Willie Nelson.  Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I’ll Ever Do Again).

The lyrics for this one deserve a better name. It is truly a masterpiece of love woven into the one’s soul.

There isn’t just one.

Just can’t be.

Then it would be a 45.

And I am an album guy.

Always have been.

Always will be.
